A Small Search Of Identity
screen printing.
Over the course of several months, I traveled the world—sometimes alone, sometimes accompanied—navigating unfamiliar places and new environments. In these unfamiliar spaces, I found myself observing more closely, both externally and internally. The act of noticing my surroundings led to a deeper reflection on who I am in these new and foreign contexts. Without the defining boundaries of a familiar environment, I often felt lost in the question of identity.
Yet, amidst this uncertainty, my reflection remained a constant. Whether sought out or stumbled upon, it served as a reminder of the version of myself organically expressed in these new settings. I became compelled to document this version—this fluid identity—more than I ever had in the familiar routines of my
everyday life.
This zine translates that search into a series of animated frames that reveal the inner world of a character observing herself. It’s an exploration of self-perception, identity, and the interplay between external environments and internal realities.
